Honey BBQ Wings

Honey BBQ Wings is a recipe that I’m gonna be sharing with you today.   I was thinking of making spicy wings but since my daughter will be eating the wings, I decided to make the honey bbq wings.   You will need 12 different ingredients to make this wings.  Not bad right? These wings are really delicious, and so tender it come off the bones just perfect.  Total of wings I used on this recipe is about 32 wings, over 3 pounds I would say.

When my daughter and I went to Walmart today, I saw few wings that were cut already on sale.  So I didn’t hesitate on buying them, I bought 3 packages of small wings. I’d say they are about 1 pounds or so on each package.  Most of the ingredients that I used in this recipe was already in my pantry.  Although I didn’t have bbq sauce I found a substitute for it, which is the ketchup and brown sugar.

Honey BBQ Wings is something that I just came up with because I wasn’t sure how to cook all these wings.  I asked my husband if he wants to eat some wings and he was like oh yeah.  Then I was like you know what I will make some honey bbq wings. Something different that we all going to enjoy. This is a finger licking good wings, definitely perfect to make for game day.  Yeah, this is something that your guest will enjoy while watching games, or even on any gathering.

To this recipe, I used over 3 pounds of wings that are already clean and cut.  Then a ½ cup of ketchup, ¼ cup of brown sugar, ½ cup of honey, 1 teaspoon chopped onions, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground pepper, ¼ cup soy sauce and 2 tablespoon lemon juice.   The soy sauce and lemon juice weren’t included in the pictures because I completely forgot about it.

Pour most of the ingredients to the chicken wings except the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice and brown sugar.  Mixed it well until all the ingredients are well incorporated.  I pre-heated the oven to 420 degrees, put aluminum foil to your baking sheets and arrange the chicken leaving a ½ an inch from each other.  I used three baking sheets when I baked my wings.  Baked the wings for 40 minutes, just turn your timer on and let it cook.

While the wings were cooking, in a small saucepan I pour my honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice.  Let it boiled for about a minute and a half in medium heat.  Once the brown sugar and all the ingredients well-mixed turn off the heat and set aside.   After the wings finished cooking for 40 minutes, I coated it with the sauce mixture leaving the oven at the same temperature and baked the chicken for 10 minutes with the sauce.  Although it took 50 minutes for the honey bbq wings to be done, the result was so delicious.

After the wings were done, I cannot help not to taste it and of course, I need a feedback from my husband.  I was nervous when I asked him to taste it, however, after he took his first bite he told me that it’s very very good and he loves it.  So it safe to say that these honey bbq wings was a hit in our house.
