Lately, I have been craving for some authentic Korean Food. I have asked few our friends on where we can get a authentic Korean food. However, no one really knows until I asked our other friend. My husband and I did some research and found the Seoul Restaurant. But before we travel, I asked another friend of mine for a best place to go in Birmingham Alabama for a Korean lunch date. Luckily she pointed us to go to Seoul Restaurant as well.
My husband and I drove to Birmingham for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We got loss their for few minutes since it was in a little shopping center. To make it easier to find, for a lot of people I think they just have to remember that it’s in the shopping center as Aldi.
First, as we walked towards the door. They have it advertise on their door healthy, organic food. After we got sited our waitress also told us that their food is organic. The waitress is very friendly and informative as well. The first thing we ordered was their ginseng tea. Oh my this tea was unbelievable it was warm enough to drink.
After serving our ginseng tea, he then asked us if we want any appetizer. So go ahead and ordered our appetizer and our main dish. However, before they serve our appetizer, the man came back pushing his cart with all the starter dish, soup, and bowl of rice. These starer are delicious, my husband favorite was the fried tofu. I must say he is not big into eating tofu, but he definitely surprised me for eating all of it.
Then it so came with kimchi that was so delicious and spicy, radish, bean sprout, fish cake is savory and it was slightly sweet. All the starter we received was very authentic and delicious. Kimchi is my favorite so I pretty much ate all of it. We taste all the starter but we also picked our most favorite. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t really into kimchi but I was still proud of him for tasting it.
Our next entree was the King Man Doo. It’s a Jumbo steamed dumplings, you can order beef, veggies, or even kimchi. So both decided to order three of the beef and three of the kimchi. These dumplings was super delicious, it came with dipping sauce. A mixture of soy sauce, chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Next, was our main dish my husband got his Fire Chicken first. It’s a spicy marinated chicken. It’s very flavorful chicken, so tender and perfectly moist. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place that cook the chicken so moist and tender. The flavors on this chicken were outstanding.
The next entree we received was my Hot Pot Bi Bim Bap. Oh my gosh this has been my wants for awhile now, to eat the authentic Hot Pot Bi Bim Bap. Hot Pot Bi Bim Bap ice bowl topped with veggies, beef, and fried egg in a stone pot. To eat this you pour a red sauce on the top and mix them all together. It’s more of a chili paste really, you can make it as spicy as you want.
The chili paste is spicy so if you don’t like too much spice, just pour a little. One thing I love about this is a texture of the egg yolk holding things together, it’s absolutely delicious. This is a very flavorful dish, and the best part is the sticky rice in the bottom.
Our experienced at Seoul Restaurant were fantastic. Authentic food, awesome service and fantastic waitress.
