Birmingham Zoo Adventures

Last weekend we had so much fun on our Birmingham Zoo Adventures . My husband and I decided to take our daughter to the Birmingham Zoo, because it has been awhile since the last time we visited the place. It was a lot of fun, they have added a lot of animals.  Although he was hoping to see the Dinosaurs again, however I think they have removed it completely from the Zoo.  However, they replaced the section where they normally display all the dinosaurs with the Alabama Wild Animals.

The Zoo was very clean and the staff was very friendly.  Everything is very clean and of course their number priority is the customers safety which is wonderful. The first thing we did when we arrived at the Zoo was to buy our tickets.  We paid about $65.00 and some change for our ticket.  Our daughter was not free anymore since she is three years old. We also took advantage on the great offer for all their rides so our daughter will have fun.   Our daughter loves to ride the carousel, so as soon as we got inside the zoo, she asked her dad if both of them can ride the carousel.

After riding the carousel we decided to pet some goats and sheep.  Although it was stinky, but knowing that our daughter is having fun with the animals is priceless.  She loves animals, and to be able to touch the goat for the first was like dream for her. The goats was really nice, very calm and friendly to the kids.  She was so tickled to see different kind of animals in one day.  I think she enjoyed more petting the goats than anything really.  We have asked her what was her favorite and each time it’s different.

We arrived early at the Zoo which is great for us since it wasn’t busy yet.  People are still at church you know, so it was a lot of fun.  In addition to that, the weather was so perfect.  The breeze feels good, and the line on everything was not long at all.  If I am not mistaken we got their around 11am and got out there at 3:30 pm.  Yes it took as that long since we just enjoyed our time and was not in a hurry to get our.  The food they have was great of course it’s pricey but we all know that already.

Since our daughter is old enough to really enjoy a lot of thing in the Zoo.  We decided to let her experienced feeding the birds. Oh my was it fun, the joy and excitement was just amazing.  She was a bit scared but we told her that she is going to be okay.  When the birds started landing nearby her and on her legs, she was like what? Of course, while I was filming and taking pictures with my husband and daughter.  Few birds has landed on me as well, especially on my head .  To feed the birds we have to buy nectar for like $1.50 I think, I can’t remember the exact amount but it was affordable.

After we finished feeding the birds we walk around the Zoo to see what other animals they have.  We saw different snakes, the cheetah, tiger, and other animals.  The last ride I had our daughter did was the camel.  To ride the camel it cost both of them around $11.00 and some change.  Then we feed the giraffe last and decided to call it the day.  We did a lot of walking in one day but we also created memories that will last a lifetime.

If you haven’t been to Birmingham Zoo. I suggest taking your family there, it’s a lot of fun and they have added a bunch more of animals as well. Birmingham Zoo Adventures is something we can look back later on in life.

  1. We love going to zoo’s around the country! Just came back form going to one in Lincoln, Nebraska. Carousels are always a plus.

  2. Going to the zoo is one of my grandchildren favorite things to do. We pack a picnic lunch and drinks head for out for some fun times with all the different animals.

  3. The Birmingham Zoo is beautiful. It is so well maintained, and the animals are well cared for. Wonderful place for a date, a family outing, or just getting away on your own.
