I was doing my research on finding the list on selective dishes that you can find in the Philippines. Here Are The List of Philippine Dishes That You Must Try. Most of these dishes can be found here in the US as well if you lived near a little Asian community. Also if you lived like in places with higher count of Asians you have the possibility of finding these dishes. It’s pretty obvious that if there is a lot of Asian in your area you will probably find one or few Filipino restaurant.

So hopefully you will enjoy this post as I show you the Main dishes that we eat in the Philippines.

1. Chicken Adobo.

This dish is typically chicken or pork, or you can combine both. Slowly cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, a little of oil, crushed garlic, bay leaves, black peppercorns and often you can add ginger as well as brown rice. With this being cooked slowly the meat always come out tender and delicious.

2. Daing

Mostly daing is a milkfish that has been dried, salted and has been marinated in a vinegar, with some garlic and fried. This is great to eat with rice, with some dipping sauce mixture of soy sauce, onions, and tomatoes.

4. Grilled Beef Satay

Grilled or skewered meat mostly pork but you can use beef or chicken it’s all depends on what meat do you like to it. This is marinated with soy sauce mixtures, grilled, and serve with white rice and soy sauce & vinegar mixture for dipping sauce.

5. Giniling

This is a very easy recipe to make, it’s ground pork or beef (but you can use ground chicken as well), cooked in garlic, onions, soy sauce, tomatoes and potatoes. Most of the time we add carrots, raisins and bell peppers.

6. Lechon

If you have been around a lot of Filipino then you probably have seen the Lechon. This dish is made by roasting a whole pig over the charcoal. This is often cooked during special occasions only.

7. Inun- unan

Inun-unan is a very delicious dish that I remembered eating a lot in my childhood. It’s fish cooked in broth of vinegar, ginger, and garlic.  Some people do add vegetables because they prefer it that way.

8. Torta

Basically an omelette, made out with an eggplant that has been grilled and eggs. It’s very delicious, this was one of my favorite breakfast.

These dishes I shared above are the one that I like eating.  I don’t eat a lot of roast pork here since it’s expensive. The rest of these dish I cook every now and then for my family and kids.
